Rick was inducted into the University of Michigan Athletics Hall of Honor in January, 2010. Rick was a two-time Big Ten wrestling champion at Michigan and played football for the Wolverines in the mid-1960's.
He later became the head wrestling coach at the school where he continued to bring success to his alma mater, as his team won the conference championship and finished 2nd and 3rd in the NCAA Tournament. In 1974 Rick was named the NCAA national coach of the year.
